In order to be able to map the process digitally in its entirety, these heterogeneous data sources must be merged. Only in this way is it possible to generate the maximum benefit from the available data. The synchronisation of the data sources is of particular importance. Within the framework of the study, the Fraunhofer IPT's data acquisition system was used as an example to show how different data sources can be synchronised at different sampling rates. The most important criterion is that all data are synchronised under consideration of the individual time stamp in order to maintain the validity of the data.
